Friday, July 21

FREE Concert: Glass Tiger & Big Wreck in downtown Kitchener

Photo: Allevents.in

What is it? This is part of a special concert series called ONTour, which the Ontario government has organized for the 150th birthday of both the province and Canada’s confederation. It also aims to showcase some of Ontario’s brightest musical talent, and we think headliners Glass Tiger and Big Wreck definitely fit that description! Featurette and Crash Vegas Duo will also be performing.

When does it start? The schedule for the night will look like this:

Featurette: 6:10PM
Crash Vegas Duo: 6:45PM
Glass Tiger: 7:40PM
Big Wreck: 9:00PM

Where is it happening? Carl Zehr Square at Kitchener City Hall

How much does it cost? $0 – This is a FREE event!

Why should you go? No cost to see four awesome bands in our own backyard? How can you pass that up?!

Rainbow Reels Super Gay Cabaret

Photo: Eventbrite

What is it? This is a special queer & trans production that is being organized by Rainbow Reels. It’s going to feature a number of unique and unforgettable performances in song, dance, burlesque, improv, spoken word, and musical excerpts, to name a few. For a full list of performances, head on over to the Facebook event page here.

When does it start? 7pm

Where is it happening? The Jazz Room in Uptown Waterloo

How much does it cost? $10, but if the ticket cost is a barrier for you, they encourage you to contact them at supergaycabaret@gmail.com.

Why should you go? There are so many incredibly unique and mainly local performers all in one place (And that venue has a fantastic atmosphere all on its own). And for the cost, it’s a pretty good deal. Most importantly, it will be a fun event that supports our local queer, trans & non-binary artists & storytellers. We’re especially excited for Janice Jo-Lee‘s performance at the event, which we’re sure will be all kinds of badass (as always). See the video below for one of our favourites from her!

Blink 182 Night @ Chainsaw

Why should you go? It’s Blink 182 man! It’s our childhood! Sure, it wasn’t always the most… fulfilling music, but still. Don’t you want to relive those days? Nothing like naked men running down the street to ‘What’s My Age Again’ to give you all of the feels right?
