Saturday, July 15

Kitchener RibFest & Craft Beer Show

What is it? This is the 14th year of this awesome community event in downtown Kitchener, and as you can guess, it does two things really well: Ribs and craft beer.

When does it start? At noon on Saturday noon until 10pm, and then from Sunday @ noon until 6pm.

Where is it happening? Victoria Park in downtown Kitchener

How much does it cost? FREE admission, but donations to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region are encouraged. Obviously, food and drinks will cost you extra $$$.

Why should you go? For mouth-watering food and alcoholic beverages of course. Just look at these bad boys for yourself. Are you drooling yet?

8 Second Ride @ Stampede Corral

What is it? 8 Second Ride is a 5-piece country-rock band based in KW. They’ve quickly developed a fanbase in this area that loves them for their 5-person vocals, dual lead and rhythm guitarists, and thunderous drumming. They’ll be performing at the Stampede Corral on Saturday night.

When does it start? 9pm

Where is it happening? Stampede Corral in downtown Kitchener

How much does it cost? $10 cover at the door

Why should you go? These guys sure know how to get us to ‘Stand Up’ and party! Listen to their single below; we’re sure you’ll agree 😉

Rebekah Stevens @ Strykerz

What is it? Sticking with the country music theme, Rebekah Stevens is also a country artist, but more of the singer-songwriter variety. She’s performing on Saturday night at Strykerz Kitchen & Bar.

When does it start? 7pm

Where is it happening? Strykerz on Ottawa Street

How much does it cost? FREE admission, but drinks & food will cost you extra $$$.

Why should you go? Because her voice will blow you away. Full stop. Once you listen to the title track from her EP below, we’re sure you’ll feel the same way!

Sunday, July 15

Open Streets in Uptown Waterloo

What is it? This is the second time we’re featuring this series of events in Uptown Waterloo. Open Streets promote playing and socializing. There are all kinds of things to enjoy, including live music, art activities, community groups, businesses, eateries and more.

When does it start? 12pm

Where is it happening? Along the Laurel and Spurline Trails in Uptown Waterloo.

How much does it cost? $0 – this is a FREE event!

Why should you go? Open Streets is a relaxing and fun chance to get out the house and discover something new about your city. Check out the full list of activities on their website here.

Kiwanis in Waterloo Park

What is it? This is an annual summer event put on by the University of Waterloo African Students Association (UWASA). It’s a series of Olympic-style competitions, and there is also great BBQ food and music.

When does it start? 3pm

Where is it happening? Waterloo Park

How much does it cost? $15 – you can purchase tickets here.

Why should you go? It’s an awesome chance to enjoy the sun, some games and hangout with friends, all while playing in some super fun competitions.
